What CompConnector Does
CompConnector™ is a user-friendly, encrypted Web portal that links the key players in the workers' compensation process. This centralized communications hub allows employers, care managers, care providers and adjusters/third-party administrators quick and easy access to information and reports concerning their workers' compensation cases. By improving the flow of information among key players, CompConnector saves everyone involved significant time and money. Moreover, it helps improve the quality and speed of decision-making regarding the injured worker.

Using the CompConnector application, authorized parties are enabled to instantly create, search for, transmit and update:

  • Provider network information
  • Referrals and authorizations
  • Treatment information
  • Work status
  • Billing and eligibility of benefits (EOB) information
  • Injured worker's physical job requirements

Thus, CompConnector eliminates:

  • An endless parade of faxes
  • Confusion from the no-win game of phone tag
  • Frustrated employers, medical professionals and injured employees
  • Wasted time and money struggling with the current system

How CompConnector Works
The CompConnector is a modular Web-based application designed to substantially ease the flow of paperwork that currently is choking workers’ compensation systems nationwide. It is a completely independent, open system. This means that users cannot be locked into, or out of, a closed system that is owned by an industry participant.

CompConnector runs on Xeon multi-processor servers, using an all RAIDS configuration for data integral. It has a redundant, hot-swappable power supply. The databases run on Windows 2000 with Microsoft's Sequel Server SQL 7. The database is accessed through ASP, with Java applets. The system is accessible through any standard Web browser, on any platform.

Because CompConnector is Internet based, users will not have to purchase dedicated equipment. All they will need is a basic personal computer with an Internet connection and web-browser. CompConnector has been designed to be very user friendly and self-directing, even for users unfamiliar with the Internet.

Other Key Facts About CompConnector
Security
Total Med Network understands that with more companies choosing to conduct business over the Internet, it becomes increasingly important that all Internet transactions are conducted safely, securely and seamlessly. Security on the Internet is extremely critical, particularly in the workers’ compensation field. Many states have extensive legislation detailing who can and cannot access patient files. Consequently, CompConnector has been designed with the latest and most sophisticated security technology available. Information entered into CompConnector is more secure than if it is sent via traditional fax or mail because it is encrypted and only authorized parties with passwords can view it. All information is securely archived and users can always retrieve anything they have ever sent or received.

From the point our users connect to the Internet and access the CompConnector system, they are protected by several levels of security. This includes encryption, router firewalls, password protection and isolation of data by physically separating databases from the Internet. In addition, for network users, CompConnector was designed to run as an external service to a customer's network so that its use and/or implementation would not affect the network. This means that using CompConnector cannot compromise the security of a customer's network.
