Shields
Chairman
William Shields has been involved
in the insurance, healthcare and information
technology industries since 1969. He also
has been involved in all aspects of Internet
development since its beginnings. Shields
founded a successful third-party administrator
and is president of CyberXpress, a specialty
Internet service provider. In addition to
his proven entrepreneurial capabilities, Shields
brings significant experience in financial
management to Total Med Network. His focus
will include financial analysis, income statements,
cash flow analysis and business strategies.
He also will be involved in marketing and
business planning.
Christopher
Rea, CFA
President & CEO
Christopher Rea brings a variety of
business and financial experience to Total
Med Network and will focus on several key
areas of the company. This includes financial
management, investor relations, marketing
and business planning. Rea earned a master's
degree in business administration from Warwick
University in the United Kingdom. He has worked
as a corporate finance consultant for Deloitte
& Touche and also with several investment
banking firms. In addition, Rea was a founder
and president of a successful start-up that
has been in business for more than 15 years.
Michael
Tonkinson
Director
of Business Development
Michael
Tonkinson brings 15 years of healthcare-related
experience in sales, sales training and marketing
to CompConnector. He has worked in various
sales and marketing positions for U.S. Surgical,
Abbott Labs and Johnson & Johnson. Tonkinson's
sales and sales training strategies and implementation
efforts throughout his career have consistently
demonstrated outstanding results in market
share, ASP and net profit increases. He has
been published in various sales and sales
training periodicals, including Safeskin News
and Surging Sales. Tonkinson received his
bachelors degree in business administration
from Spring Hill College, Mobile, Ala., where
he attended on scholarship.
Ron
Classen, Ph.D.
Chief
Technology Officer
Ron Classen has more than 25
years of experience in the computer and software
development field. He has been a consultant
and software developer for companies and government
agencies such as Rockwell International, E-Systems
and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. Classen
has developed many Web-based software applications
including insurance claims processing, online
credit reporting and reservation systems.
He has a doctorate in industrial engineering
from the University of Arkansas and has been
a computer science/engineering professor at
several leading universities. In addition,
he has authored more than 20 papers in various
areas of information technology and networks.
Classen will be responsible for leading all
technology development at Total Med Network.
David
Shields
Director
of Network Engineering
David Shields will handle network
security for the company, as well as all network
engineering duties. Shields is a founder of
CyberXpress, an Internet service provider
specializing in intranet and Internet secured
connections. He has extensive expertise in
network communications, including advanced
Cisco training, and Internet security. This
includes firewalls, proxies, network address
translation, access lists and encrypted sessions
using SSL and Virtual Private Networking with
ATMP, PPTP and L2TP.
John
Adkins
Director
of Network Systems
John Adkins primary focus
has been the installation, upgrading and maintenance
of network hardware, servers and workstations
including network design and layout. Adkins
has experience with all versions of Microsoft's
Windows applications from 3.1x to Windows
2000 server. He has designed and implemented
various networks running TCP/IP, IPX/SPX and
other network protocols. He also has extensive
experience with client/server applications
and other applications running in a network
or stand-alone environment. Adkins will head
all internal and external network installation
and maintenance.
Daniel
Rhoden
Director
of Technical Support
Daniel Rhoden brings extensive experience
in the technical field of computers to Total
Med Network. Rhoden has built, configured
and maintained many types of systems and software
applications. His many talents include trouble-shooting
software applications and computer related
problems, and setting up, configuring and
trouble-shooting networks. He has obtained
numerous certifications including MCSE +I,
CCNA, Network+ and A+. Rhoden will handle
customer relations and technical support for
the company.
Kris
Cooper, Ph.D.
Director
of Project Management
Kris
Cooper has more than 20 years experience in
the computer and software development field
and is the author of papers on topics including
user interface design, database design and
using the Web in a learning environment. She
has been a consultant and software developer
for organizations such as General Dynamics,
the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and the state
of Mississippi. She received her doctorate
in computer science from the University of
Texas at Arlington and has served in many
lead positions in the areas of information
technology for several universities. Recent
software development projects have included
Web-based applications that access online
databases, emphasizing user interface and
database design to enhance system effectiveness.
Cooper's focus at Total Med Network will include
database architecture design and development,
interface design and development, and quality
assurance.
